After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego (USD), Mr. McDonnell attended USD's School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1967. Following law school, he was admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Since then, Mr. McDonnell has been admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of California, the District of Arizona, the District of Nevada, the District of Colorado, and the Northern District of Georgia. Mr. McDonnell is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
As a prominent figure in the Southern California legal community, Mr. McDonnell maintains active memberships in the Orange County Bar Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the California Public Defenders Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a staunch advocate for protecting the rights of criminal defendants, including juvenile offenders. Mr. McDonnell’s impressive track record of assisting DUI defendants is showcased by his and Attorney Jeffrey's Kent’s reported case before the California Supreme Court: Larsen v. Department of Motor Vehicles (1995) 12 Cal. 4th 278.
A California native, Jeffrey Kent is a distinguished criminal defense attorney with nearly 20 years of trial experience. An AV Preeminent rated lawyer, Mr. Kent is also a lifetime member of the National Registry of Who’s Who, currently listed in Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in American Law. In addition, he was repeatedly honored as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine, a listing of top up-and-coming attorneys in each state.
Mr. Kent earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1989. In 1992, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law and was admitted to practice in California. Since then, Mr. Kent has been admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
With a criminal defense practice that extends throughout all of Orange and Los Angeles Counties, Mr. Kent is an active member in many legal associations.
